Overview
Take your personal computing experience to the extreme. Our most powerful desktop system, the Leopard Extreme offers superb performance from an Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 12 GB of Triple-channel DDR3 RAM, and a crystal clear image from a flying Nvidia graphics card. You can also equip this monster of a computer with High Performance RAID 0, increasing the speed of your hard drive. Or opt for the Solid State drive or Velociraptor Hard disk, giving your computer all the speed you could ever need.
This article includes technical information on the System76 Leopard Extreme (model Leo1/LeoX1). This model was discontinued in March of 2011 and was replaced with the model LeoX2.
Important Notice!
Due to its excessive size and weight, the heat sink in Leopard Extreme systems will now be shipped with bracing material to hold it steady and prevent damage during shipping. You must remove the packing material from around the heat sink before using your computer.
To remove the packing, remove the large thumbscrews from the back of the case and slide the side panel backwards until it is free.
Remove it, then carefully remove any packing material from around the inside of the computer.
Replace the side panel, tighten the thumb screws, and continue setting up your computer.
