Overview

System76 Touchpads now support MultiTouch (up to three finger) in Ubuntu 11.04. By default, supported System76 laptops ship with two finger scrolling enabled. To scroll, place both fingers on the touchpad and move them around; the contents will scroll with them:

MultiTouch scrolling isn't yet supported on some System76 models, for a complete list of these and supported systems, check the list at the bottom of this page

Disabling Two-Finger scroll.

For customers who prefer edge-scrolling to two-finger scrolling, this feature can be disabled. First, click on the Ubuntu button (Home button) in the top left corner of the screen to open the Unity Dash:

Supported Gestures

Ubuntu currently supports Two- and Three-finger gestures on System76 integrated touchpads. You can scroll by fragging two fingers. Taping with three fingers will show Resize and Move handles, and dragging three fingers will move the window under the mouse cursor.

Models not listed in the table above have not been tested, and System76 does not have enough data to tell if MultiTouch scrolling works or not. If you want to test it out, enable Two-Finger scrolling in the mouse settings above. Be sure to let us know your results so we can add it to the table!
