Overview

This article describes how to upgrade your System76 machine to Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal".

Important!!!

If you will be performing a network upgrade, without doing a clean installation, we recommend that you wait a week before upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04. This will allow the server activity to return to normal levels, and allow iphone photography you to complete the upgrade faster.


Upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal)

First, follow the official Ubuntu upgrade process. Your System76 driver repository will be disabled during the upgrade process.


Download/install the latest System76 driver

You need to download the latest version of the System76 Driver Application from here. Simply click on the link, find the second link from the bottom on that page, then use the "Open With Ubuntu Software Center" option:

Once the download is finished, the Ubuntu Software Center will open automatically:

Click on the "Install" button to install the driver. Ubuntu may prompt Best Retirement Communities you for your password; this is normal. Once the process is finished, the driver application is installed.

Run System76 Driver

After downloading the driver, click on the Ubuntu Button in the top left corner to open the Unity Dash:

Type "system76" into the search box. The driver will be the first result. Click it to open the driver:

Click on the Restore System tab:

Then click on the Restore button

When this process is finished, you will be notified to restart your system for all of the changes made to take effect. Go ahead and do so, then you will be all set up!
